Longtime Rawlins resident Bill Seiloff died February 17, 2012 at his daughter Sandy Ryan's home in Cheyenne at the age of 89. He was born in Dixon, Wyoming on August 13, 1922, the 13th child of Charles and Nellie Seilaff. The family moved to Rawlins in approximately 1930. He attended Rawlins Public Schools and graduated from Rawlins High School with the Class of 1942. He married Thelma M. Carlile on October 24, 1942 in Rawlins. Bill joined the US Army Air Force on December 2, 1942 and served in World War II in Communications. He was able to travel to Rome to see his brother Raymond while they were both oversees. His honorable discharge was December 13, 1945. After his discharge from the Service, Bill worked for Dawson Corbett Trucking. In 1953 he leased and operated LeRoy's Chevron Service which was located at 18th & Spruce. After 15 years he purchased the Chevron bulk plant and became the Chevron Jobber. He retired in 1992 and sold the business to J.H. Kaspar Oil Co. Survivors include his Special Companion, Kathleen (Kay) Arnold, his children, Sandy Ryan, Brenda (Dave) Salverson, and William B. Seiloff, his Grandchildren, Kim Ryan, Aaron W. Dunn, W. Aaron Seiloff, John Seiloff, Sherry Gray, and Katy Salverson, his Great Grandchildren, Kameron Ryan, R. Chad Dunn, Tyler Peterson, Willie and Hanna Gray, Landon Seiloff, Keagan Salverson Fraley, and Payton Salverson Fraley. Survivors also include Sisters-in-laws, Edna Evans and Angelina Carlile, and Brothers-in law Norman Barnhisel, Chet Evans, and Earl Carlile and many, many nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Thelma Seiloff, his seven brothers, John, Bob, Forrest, Herman, Raymond, Henry, and Charles and eight sisters, Edna Grove, Ruth Leckenby, Margaret Olsen, Caroline Oster, Arlene McCannon, Helen Barnhisel, Betty Shurtz, and Mary Cairns, Sons-in-law Gale Ryan and Robert Oakes, Daughter-in-law Linda Seiloff, and Grandson, Kevin Salverson. Funeral Services will be held February 24, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Rostad Mortuary Chapel in Rawlins with Pastor Roger Rapp officiating. Interment will take place in the Rawlins Municipal Cemetery at a later date. Honorary Pallbearers will be Norm Barnhisel, Phil Leckenby, Henry Petersen, Morgan Evans, and Gordon Roylance.
