Trevor J. Mikesell

September 5, 2001 — June 20, 2023

Rawlins, WY

Trevor Jacob Mikesell, 21, passed to the next chapter of his life unexpectedly on June 20, 2023 from a tragic work accident.  He was born in Rawlins, Wyoming on September 5, 2001. He came into this world full of life and energy and kept that spark until he left this earth. He began his education at the First United Methodist Preschool and eventually graduated from Rawlins High School. He developed his love for playing baseball at a very young age and continued playing Legion baseball until he graduated from high school. He will for-e-ver be remembered as Hambino. He also enjoyed playing basketball for many years, placing in the Elks Hoop Shoot on multiple occasions. Trevor developed a love for cooking and would share his talent with friends and family. He would often call his momma for her recipes…she will miss their daily phone calls dearly. He proudly referred to himself as a momma’s boy. Trevor’s dad instilled a love for hunting in him from a young age. He shared this legacy with his family and friends every year, having many wild adventures along the way. Anyone who knew him, his father, and grandfather could see that they were all cut from the same cloth. He was the light of the room, the life of the party, and had a contagious energy. Trevor has always looked up to his big brother, Tristin, who he was very close to until the very end. His greatest passion was spending time with his friends and his sweet fiancee’ Hannah. He had a gift with people and made lasting friendships everywhere he went.  He had a love for music and enjoyed playing the guitar while his sister, Jessalyn, would sing. He was very patriotic and loved wearing his American flag clothing. Trevor loved spending time with his many cousins and friends in Oklahoma, they held a special place in his heart. He also loved working there for his uncle Lesley learning concrete work.  Trevor discovered his gift for working with people in the service industry. He absolutely loved working at Texas Roadhouse while living in Utah. His work family meant a lot to him. Trevor attended Laramie County Community College and the University of Wyoming. He was working in Logan, Utah when he passed. He had plans to continue his education at Brigham Young University-Idaho. Trevor’s girlfriend’s parents gave him their blessing to marry their sweet daughter, Hannah, the day before he passed. He had plans to propose just four days after his passing. Trevor and Hannah were looking forward to being sealed in the temple in eternal marriage in November.  It was remarkable to see the growth Trevor had shown in the last year of his life. He was well prepared to meet the Lord and was being described as being a beacon of light and having saved other’s lives by giving them hope and friendship. He, his parents, and siblings shared a special bond that will continue through the eternities. This close-knit family will feel a forever emptiness…until we meet again.

Trevor is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Teresa Cullumber and his maternal grandfather, Arturo Villela. He is survived by his parents, Cecelia and Andrew Mikesell, older brother, Tristin Mikesell, two younger sisters, Emilee and Jessalyn Mikesell, his paternal grandparents, Moana and Eldon Mikesell, maternal step grandfather, Kirk Cullumber, maternal step grandmother Carmen Villela, many other family and friends, and the love of his life, Hannah Isom.  He will forever be loved by so many.
