Travis Lin Morgan, 58, of Rawlins, Wyoming, passed away on January 27, 2023 surrounded by his wife, children, and 2 grandchildren in Memorial Hospital of Carbon County.
Travis was born in Rawlins, Wyoming to Gloria and Dennis Morgan on May 17, 1964. He started out his career playing drums for Sugarfoot Band from 1985–1994. Then in 1994, he went to work for Morgan Welding and Triple L doing roustabout. From 1995–1999 , he started his own contract pumping business (Desert Well Operators) and contracted under a master service contract with Marathon Oil. In 1999-2000, he subcontracted to Williams through Del Consulting as an electrician to install, program, and calibrate flow meters on a 450 well Amoco telemetry upgrade project. In 2000, he was recognized as a “change agent” at the BPX Corp. IO team level during the Amoco/BP buyout/transition. From 2000-2005, he was a Production Technician, and then in 2006 was the Shut in Cycle Manager. From 2005-2021, he was the Senior Operations Specialist/Optimizer for BP. In 2021, he went to work for Maverick/Workrise as a contract operator. He enjoyed hanging out with his family, camping, ATVs, fishing, airplanes/drones, music, playing his drums, and laughing.
Travis is survived by his wife, Kimberly; their 4 daughters Kayla, Bailey, Taylor (Kie) Foster, and Paislee; his brothers Trent (Ashley), Waylan (Tammy) Morgan, and a brother in WA Jim (Christi) Jackson; his mother Gloria Young; father Dennis (Debbie) Morgan; his great grandmother Margaret (Marie) Mathill (102); his 2 grandchildren Wrenleigh and Laikyn; his nieces and nephews Seth, Chelsey, Adalee, and Emmitt Morgan, Cayden, Kennedi, Krishana Jake, and Hadley Henry, Timber, Maliece and her son Hudson.
He is preceded in death by Ramon (Butch) Mathill (grandparent), Phyllis Meacham (Aunt), and Christine Kelley (mother-in-law).
Funeral Services will be held at Jeffrey Memorial Community Center in Rawlins on February 3, 2023 at 2:00 pm with Jakob Kottke officiating. Burial will follow at Rawlins Cemetery, 915 Third Street. Visitation and food will be held at Jeffrey Memorial Community Center following graveside services. Casada Funeral Home and Crematory will be handling the funeral arrangements.
Memorial donations may be made to Bank of Commerce in Rawlins to Travis Morgan’s Memorial Fund.
