Timothy Duncan

February 2, 1959 — February 26, 2017

Timothy John Duncan was born February 2, 1959 in Wichita, Kansas to John and Verres Duncan. He passed away peacefully at his home on February 26, 2017. Tim grew up in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas, moving frequently with his dad's job. They settled in Caney, Kansas in 1969. Tim graduated from Caney Valley High School in 1977 and attended one semester of college at Kansas State University, where he majored in engineering. As a teenager in Caney he played American Legion baseball, football, golf, and he wrestled. He worked at Bob Montgomery's Standard Station, a job he dearly loved. Following his semester at Kansas State, Tim returned to Caney and began working full-time for Cities Service Gas Company. In 1983 Tim married Debra Long of Caney, and they went on to have two children. In November 1987 Tim and his family moved to Rawlins, Wyoming with his job. His career in the oil and gas industry lasted nearly 40 years. During that time he formed relationships not only with his Williams coworkers, but also with those working with other companies in the area; he had a large professional family. Tim was a company man, totally devoted to Williams. At the time of his passing he was a Field Operations Supervisor at Echo Springs. On June 14th, 2014 Tim married KK, happily blending their families. He will be remembered for quite an outgoing personality. He was a practical joker, loved to tease, and always laughed out loud. He was stubborn, sensitive, and kind. He had a passion for golf and a deep loyalty to the Kansas State Wildcats. He loved "The Big Bang Theory" and old seasons of "Saturday Night Live." He was also a Colorado Rockies fan, and he enjoyed camping, four wheeling, driving his boat at the lake, and sitting at the dam for hours. Above all Tim enjoyed being with his family. His children and grandchildren were everything to him. His three grandchildren were the apples of his eye. He was a wonderful teacher and leader, and a very generous man. He would do anything for family and friends. People could always depend on him. Tim is preceded in death by his father, John Duncan. He is survived by his mother, Verres "Peggy" Duncan; beloved wife, Renata "KK" Duncan; children, Lindsi Brightly (Husband-Trent Brightly and daughter-Remington); Brant Duncan (Wife-Taryn Duncan, Children-Karter and Piper); Haley Smart (Significant other-Neil Carrico); and Karley Smart; sisters, Teresa Rolls (Children-Rachel (Husband-Matt Ferrell), Justin, and Meghan.); Debra Duncan; and Marilyn Hey (Husband-Tim and children John and Madison); and mother-in-law, Margot Peverley. He is also survived by numerous very close extended family members. Honorary pallbearers are: Brant Duncan, Trent Brightly, Bryce Davis, Tate Davis, Dennis Grenier, James Davis, John Albrechtson, Jim Clegg, Calvin Hazelwood, Tim Hey, and Neil Carrico. In lieu of flowers and food, donations may be made to the Elks Lodge foundation W.E.S.T. or a charity of your choice. A Rosary will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 7:00 p.m, and a funeral mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. A reception/celebration of life will follow at the Elks Lodge.
