Tilford "Bill" Hytrek, 75, of Saratoga passed away Sat. Jan.9, 2016 at his residence. He was born Sept.1, 1940 in Wheatland, WY to parents Frances B. (Blake) and Vincent G. Hytrek. Bill married Dona L. Bowman on Nov. 19, 1962 in Torrington, WY and the two had four children. He started working at a young age and was always willing to work any job, just as long as he was employed. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard and taught himself to weld, becoming very proficient in the trade. He also completed a course in locksmithing and tool sharpening to pursue in his retirement. Bill especially enjoyed the logging industry and worked in every phase of it. He was a logging contractor for the Sheridan sawmill in the 1970's and also for Heinz Lumber in Saratoga in the 1980's. Once he was asked what he would do if he won the lottery, he grinned and said that he would "log" and prospect for gold until he went broke. Bill was happiest when in the mountains working, camping, and hunting, especially if his family was with him. He also loved taking friends and family flying after he received his private pilot's license. Survivors include his wife, Dona; three sons, Vincent W. (Kimberly) of Saratoga, Stacy W. (Teddie Sue) of Georgetown, TX and Andrew (Fawn) of Saratoga; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; ten step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Juliett E. Toban Gayman; daughter, Sherri A. Rhoads; and granddaughter, Rachel A. Rhoads. Services will take place on Thurs. Jan. 14, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. in the Valley Chapel in Saratoga.
