Sy Lein, 87, of Elk Mountain passed away peacefully at South Central Wyoming Healthcare Center on Sunday, January 6, 2013. He was the beloved husband to Jean (Bradley) Lein. Sy was born in the Bronx, New York Oct 25, 1925. He was the son of the late Morris and Esther Latiner Lein. He was in the military for twenty-seven years where he served in the Coast Guard, Air Force and Army. He retired as a Major. He is a veteran of World War II and Vietnam. Sy's favorite past time was talking about the military and sharing his stories with everyone. He will be remembered for his laugh, contagious smile and great personality. Sy and his wife retired with their three grandchildren to Elk Mountain in 1994 where Sy was an active member in the community. Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Ralph Lein and his partner Ron Webber of Carson City, NV, Glenn Lein and his wife Joy of Henderson, NV, Stacey Woodington and her husband Larry of Boise, ID, Danyll Chandler and her husband Ron of OR, and Patrick Lein and his wife Julie of St. George, UT. He was the beloved grandfather of Payton Lein, Ryan Lein, Dawn Lein, Michael Woodington, Barry Lein, Christopher Lein and Chris Woodington. Sy was the brother of the late Naomi Baroden. A memorial service luncheon will be held at the Elk Mountain Fire house at 1:00pm on January 12, 2013 in Elk Mountain, Wyoming. Burial services will be held at a future date in Boulder City, NV at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
