Stephen Leroy Davidson, 69, was born on May 20, 1955, to Wanda Eileen (Hedrick) Davidson and Troy Felts Davidson in Springfield, Missouri, and was raised in Willow Springs, Missouri. He was the grandson of Clarence Leroy (“Stormy”) and Maude Hedrick.
He graduated valedictorian of his Willow Springs High School class of 1973, and he graduated from the University of Missouri School of Engineering in Columbia in 1978. His engineering career took him many places, from working on hydroelectric power for the Tennessee Valley Authority in Paducah, Kentucky, to oil refineries in Kansas, New Mexico, Alabama, and El Paso, Texas, and to China and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He had moved to Rawlins, Wyoming, to work at the nearby Sinclair Oil Refinery, and he died there at his home on August 3, 2024. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, archery, scuba diving, music, playing the saxophone, photography, and computers.
Stephen is survived by his daughter, Jillian Storm Davidson, Nashville, Tennessee, and his two sisters, Debbie Davidson Clift, Mountain View, Missouri, and Sandra Davidson and her husband, Ron Carter, Columbia, Missouri, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
