Silvino Coronado

September 12, 1943 — January 21, 2014

Silvino M. Coronado, age 70, of Rawlins, Wyoming, passed away peacefully in his home and among family on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 due to illness caused by cancer. Silvino was born in San Jose de los Sotles, Matehuala, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, on September 12, 1943; he was the second of twelve children. Silvino and his father arrived in the United States in 1965 where they worked and made a living as sheep herders and ranch hands from 1965 - 1974. Silvino married Antonia Cardenas Torres in 1968 in Matehuala, Mexico and both officially immigrated to the U.S. in 1971 along with son, Heriberto, and daughter, Norma. Silvino worked as a ranch hand for the Vern and Della Vivian Family north of Hanna, Wyoming, from 1971-1974. He later relocated his family to Rawlins in 1974 and worked as a Roofer laborer for Harlan Patchen from 1974-1984. He worked the last 29 years (1984-2013) as an oilfield laborer for Bartlett Oilfield Services, in Bairoil, Wyoming. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching baseball, spending time with family and friends, and of course, "work". Even though he would never admit it, Silvino expressed his love to his family through his hard work and dedication to his labor craft. From early childhood working in the corn fields, to sheep herding in the mountains, as a ranch hand, roofer, and eventually as a laborer in the oilfields, his life was his work. We can definitely say that he enjoyed working with his team members in the fields throughout those many years. He can now rest peacefully, as he awaits us to join him someday, just as soon as we finish our work. Silvino is preceded in death by a son, Jose Luis Coronado; his parents, Jose Carmen Coronado, Higinia Medellin; brothers, Abundio Coronado, Venancio Coronado; sisters, Maria Del Carmen Medrano, Maria De Los Angeles Torres. Surviving brothers and sisters, Josefina Calvo, Emma Coronado, Maria De Jesus Coronado, Simon Coronado, Yolanda Moreno, Humberto Coronado, and Jose Coronado, all reside in Houston, Texas. Silvino is also survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Antonia Coronado Cardenas of Rawlins, Wyoming; children and spouses: Heriberto (Cindy) Coronado of Frederick, Colorado; Norma Alicia Coronado (Tim Moore)of Brighton, Colorado; Aldo (Adriana) Coronado of Lakewood, Colorado; Almadora (Jeremy) Lahti of Centennial, Colorado; Juan Francisco (Violeta) Coronado of Thornton, Colorado; Diana Maria (Victor) Simental of Littleton, Colorado; Eight grandchildren: Lilyana, Saundra, Elena, Isabella, Christopher, Maite, Reyna, and soon to be born baby to Juan and Violeta Coronado.
