Sharon Monson

October 5, 1942 — January 31, 2016

Sharon Louise Caster Monson, 73, of Rawlins passed away Jan. 31, 2016 at her residence. A Wyoming native, she was born Oct. 5, 1942 in Casper, WY to parents Esther C. Williamson and Harold Martin Caster. No viewing, visitation or interment will be held. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sat. Feb. 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 3rd and Pine St. Rawlins. Father Sam Hayes will be the Celebrant. Honorary Pallbearers will be great-grandson, Eli Trujillo; sons, Marvin "Ike" Brown, Jr., Kevin Monson and Gary Monson; and grandsons, Andrew Gomez, John Garcia and William Chris Pepergias, III. Sharon completed her education at Natrona County High School, home of the "Mustangs". Prior to her retirement, she had worked as a housekeeper, bartendress and for the last 15 years of employment, she worked at Alco in Rawlins. Her most fulfilling job in life was caring for her grandchildren, family and friends and welcoming many others into her family. Her hobbies included swimming, rock hunting, fishing and laying out a blanket under a shade tree by the river. She also took great pride in tending to her lovely yard for 40 years before turning to more indoor hobbies, including crafts, gifting and décor. She had a passion for cooking BBQs and large meals for family and friends. She loved baking and making candies from Halloween through New Year's. She is remembered for her beauty, her lovely smile and for helping those in need of a friend or a word of caring advice. She was kind, warm-hearted, considerate, humane and sympathetic. Survivors include her daughters, Shelly (Dave) Hardy, Traci (Richard) Robertson and Konnie Thibideau; sons, Marvin "Ike" E. (Theresa) Brown, Jr., Kevin Monson and Gary Monson; 27 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Russell (Alverna) Caster; sister, Cathleen (Robby) Robinson; dearest Janet Jackson Broussard; daughter-in-law, Kathy Pepergias; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husbands, H. Dean Monson and Marvin E. Brown, Sr.; sons, William Chris Pepergias, IV and Michael William Monson; her parents; brother, Martin Harold "Buddy" Caster; grandson, Jason Monson; niece, Cheri Caster; nephew, Steven Heady; daughter-in-law, Shirley Monson; son-in-law, Don "Painter" Batchelor; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
