Samuel Bustos

Samuel B. Bustos, 54, of Rawlins, passed away Aug. 1, 2015. He was born Jan. 26, 1961 in Rawlins to parents Fidencia (Cruz) and Alfonso Bustos. A Vigil Service with recitation of the Rosary will be held on Thurs. Aug. 6, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Fri. Aug. 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Father Sam Hayes will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Rawlins Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Adrian Rivera, Matthew Rivera, Dylan Schutterle, Ethan Hall, Wally Lazarkiewicz and Roy Archuleta. Honorary Pallbearers will be Josh Oaks, Alfonso Bustos, Jr., Thomas Bustos, Jr. and Christopher Bustos. Samuel grew up in Rawlins and graduated from Rawlins High School in 1979. He was employed by the Wyoming State Penitentiary until the time of his passing. His hobbies included gun collecting, rock hunting and riding his Harley's. He loved taking his godson, Dylan, rabbit hunting and shooting. Samuel is remembered as a wonderful big brother to his siblings and the best uncle to his nieces and nephews, all of whom loved him dearly. Survivors include his parents, Alfonso and Fidencia Bustos; sisters, Linda (Louis) Rivera and Teri (Voytek) Marciniak of Rawlins and Janell (Brian) Oaks of Riverton; brothers, Robert and Thomas Bustos of Rawlins; and longtime friend, Marge McCrea. He was preceded in death by a nephew, Robert Bustos, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Samuel and Jessie Bustos; maternal grandparents, Jake and Grace Cruz; aunts, Charlotte Martinez and Angela Montoya; uncles Ernest and Neri Cruz; and a cousin, Paul Montoya.
