Lifetime resident, Ronald Adams, passed away suddenly on April 6, 2015 at his home in Rawlins. He was 78. Ron was born January 30, 1937, in Jefferson City, MO to Ralph and Hazel Adams. Ron and his family moved to Rawlins in 1949, where his father took a job with Union Pacific Railroad. Ron attended Rawlins schools, and in 1956, married lifetime resident Nina M. (Wyrick) Adams. He worked various jobs until going to work for the Union Pacific Railroad in 1968. He retired from UP in 2003. Ron enjoyed many years at Seminoe Reservoir boating with his family and friends. He enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, and was a great stock car driver in his early years. He was known as a very skilled carpenter and tradesman. He was also a lifetime member of the loyal order of Elks in Rawlins. Ron was a great family man and spent a great amount of his time with his children and many grandchildren. Ron was well known and respected in Carbon County. He will be remembered for his quick wit and his great sense of humor. Ron is survived by his brother, Jerry (Dawn) Adams; daughter, Rona (Adams) Snively; son, Kirk Adams; stepson, Ralph Crum; grandchildren, Adam Snively, Gentry Adams, Nathan and Daniel Crum and Cassandra Crum; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and cousin, Myrtle Gashler. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Hazel Adams; wife, Nina Adams; daughter, Dorsi L. Adams; and stepson, Kerry D. Crum. The celebration of his life will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the Carbon County Funeral Home in Rawlins. Rev. Tom Thompson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Rawlins Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Peppermill Bar and Grill, Rawlins.
