Robert Florian Konrath

Robert Florian “Bob” Konrath passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024, at North Platte Valley Medical Center in Saratoga, Wyoming, surrounded by his family.

Robert was born to Florian and Catherine Konrath in Crawford, Nebraska on April 2, 1939.

He moved to Glenrock, Wyoming with his family, as a young teen in 1952. Bob graduated from Glenrock Parkerton High School in 1958. He married Janice Grant on February 15, 1958. Together they raised four children. In his early years, he farmed, ranched, and would eventually work for Rissler McMurry in 1960 running heavy equipment and worked numerous places. He moved with the company and in 1969 would work on building Interstate 80. He moved his family to be with him and after a few years, Bob and Janice would purchase Walcott Service Station. He passed away 1 day shy of his 55th anniversary as a business owner.

He was an avid bowler. He bowled on a mixed league with Janice and team mates Les & Shirley Schmidt. He also bowled on numerous men’s leagues with friends. He loves to fish with grandson Seth. In the fall, he looked forward to watching football and rooting for his favorite team the “Denver Broncos.”

Robert was proceeded in death by his father Florian; mother Catherine Konrath; father-in-law and mothers-in-law Jess and Elizabeth Grant; sisters Nellie Arner, Lavonne Ryder, and Dixie Taylor; daughter-in-law Vicky Konrath; and Granddaughter Tori Cosgrave.

Robert is survived by his wife Janice Konrath; son Les Konrath and his children Amanda (Aaron) Safford, Pamela (Brian) Norwood and daughter Ivy Mae Norwood; daughter Roberta (Greg) Cosgrave and their children Jess Cosgrave, Jason (Vanessa) Cosgrave, Josh (Brittney) Cosgrave; daughter Cathy (Don) Schuh and their children Tara (Rick) Engleman, Ricky (Karissa) Morgan; son Mike (Rhonda) Konrath and their children Samantha (Marcos) Saavedra, Seth (Ann) Konrath, Jake (Cassi) Konrath; sisters Bonita Hunt and Caroline (Jim) Johnson; sister-in-law Jean (Stan) Kemmerer; brother-in-law John (Margaret) Grant and numerous great-grandchildren.

A funeral service for Robert F. Konrath (age 85) will be held at 11:00 o’clock on September 6, 2024, at the St. Louis Catholic Church, 601 S. 5th Street in Glenrock, Wyoming with Father Simango officiating.
