Philip Sheldon Cook passed away peacefully November 25, 2022. He fought hard for a year battling cancer. He just wanted to see all his grand babies born. He got his wish. All of his family was with him this last week.
He was born December 19, 1949, to Charles and Maxine Buckman of Hanna, Wyoming. After high school he served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he enjoyed working for the Carbon County Road and Bridge for over 28 years. He always wanted to be buried with his blade. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and rock hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Verna; their two daughters, Jennifer and Tyler Hanks of Green River and Denise Jones of Cheyenne; eight grandchildren, Channing and Kyler Mourer and their son Warren James; Kennadie and Cody Hawkins and their son Banks Wayne; Tannar and Bailey Hanks and their son Hayes Amos and daughters Rosalie Iris and Ada Lynn Grace; Hunter and Lyndsey Hanks and their daughter Brielle NaKohl; Matison Love and Seth Harrison and their son Maverick Joseph; Teegan Love, Oaklee Hanks and Tynlee Hanks.
At his request, there will be no service and his ashes will be spread at a later date at one of his favorite places.
