Pete Wilfred Medina, 72, of Rawlins, passed away April 8, 2013. He was born August 26, 1940, in San Luis, CO, to parents Epifania (Esquibel) and Epimenio Medina. He attended the Rawlins Catholic School and worked for Robert Jack Smith Surveyors during the 1960s. He began working for Union Pacific Railroad in 1962 and retired as a Machine Operator in 1994. He was married to Pauline Trujillo in February of 1960, and the couple were married for 33 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved spending time with his grandchildren, as well as seeing the sights and making his rounds. Survivors include his children: Jimmy, Gilbert, Sr. and Derek Medina and Janell (Brandon) Archuleta; grandchildren: Lucas (Amanda) Medina, Emilio Medina, Kianna Medina, Gilbert (Angie) Medina, Jr., Daunte Medina, Noah (Darbie) Archuleta, Kaurice Archuleta, Joe Medina, Isedro Jimenez, and Dominic Medina; great-grandchildren: Dorian Medina, Lucas Medina, Jr., and Josiah Medina; siblings: Dolores Ortega, Marcia (Armando) Atencio, Virginia (Joe) Sanchez, Marie Medina, Raymond Medina, and Anthony Medina; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, including his favorite aunt, Tiva. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joseph and Johnny Medina, and a brother-in-law, Richard Ortega.
