Michelle Romero

Michelle Faye Romero, 54, of Rawlins WY, passed away October 18th, 2014. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday November 8th, 2014 at the Carbon County Funeral Home in Rawlins. Pastor Rick Prince of Harvestime Ministries will officiate. Michelle was born in Rawlins on May 22nd, 1960. She graduated from Rawlins High School in 1978 and continued on to receive her degree from Barnes Business College. Michelle worked as a DOT Staff Assistant for Basic Energy Services since 2012. She also worked at the Bank of Commerce and Rawlins National Bank for nearly 20 years, combined. She was also a longtime employee of the Peppermill. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, music, dancing, soaking at the hot springs, boating, fishing, camping, rock hounding and exploring the countryside. She was always up for new adventures and loved her family and friends dearly. I've come to the end of my journey and I've traveled my last weary mile, just forget if you can, that I ever frowned and remember only the smile. Forget unkind words I have spoken; remember good I have done. Forget that I ever had heartache and remember I've had loads of fun. Forget that I've stumbled and blundered and sometimes fell by the way. Remember I have fought some hard battles and won, ere the close of the day. Then forget to grieve for my going, I would not have you sad for a day, but in summer just gather some flowers and remember the place where I lay, and come in the shade of the evening when the sun paints the sky in the west. Stand for a few moments beside me and remember only my best. Michelle is survived by her father, Bill Romero of Rawlins WY; daughter, Christine & Vasil Penev and grandchildren, Elianna, Dain & Kalina of Fort Collins CO; long-time partner, Richard Matherne of Rawlins WY; brothers, John and Joyce Romero of Centennial, CO and Mike Romero of Salt Lake City, UT; and numerous other family members and friends. Michelle was preceded in death by her mother, Faye Romero; grandparents, Nora and Rudy Trejo; among other cherished family members. The family of Michelle wishes to thank everyone during this most difficult time. You have shown great support, generosity and love.
