Our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Mary Ann Colson, passed quietly at home on June 14, 2018. All of her children were home to be with her during this time. Mary led a simple and good life, filled with friends, family, many pets, writing poems and short stories, reading and taking a drive to see the stars at night. She loved the Dodgers and the Redskins and if you betted against her you probably lost. Mary was born May 2,1934, in King Hill, Idaho to Roy and Anna Barnes, the fourth of five children. She attended King Hill High School and after graduation moved to Seattle, Washington to further her education. Moving back to Idaho, she married Richard H. Colson. They moved to Rawlins in 1965 and raised their 10 children. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Travis; her sisters Catherine and Margaret; her daughter, Colleen; and her husband, Richard. Mary is survived by her children Jerry (Peggy), Steve (Colleen), Valerie (Jim), Karen, Mike (Lori), Scott (Angie), Paul (Deanna), Rich (JoEllen) and Jack. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mary requested no formal funeral services. A celebration of life will be scheduled in the future for family and friends. The family would like to thank the community of Rawlins for being a friend to our mom, Mary.
