Mary Helen (Keller) Chapman, 98 died early Sunday morning, April 22, 2012 at South Central Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Helen was born December 17, 1913 to Leo and Katherine (Kramer) Keller in Geddes, SD. She graduated from High School in Yankton, SD., and attended secretarial school in Scottsbluff, NE. She married James A. Chapman on August 20, 1940. The couple lived in Lincoln, NE until moving to Rawlins, WY in 1944. She was very artistic, and will be remembered for her hand crafted goose eggs decorated in the "Faberge" style. Several of her eggs were displayed at the White House in the 1990's representing the state of Wyoming. She volunteered for many organizations, including March of Dimes and Easter Seals. She also was very active as a parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Mrs. Chapman was preceded in death by her parents; James, her husband of 52 years; her son Michael Chapman in 2003, and her sister Katherine Irene Larson of Yankton, SD. She is survived by her children, Pat Chapman, Leo (Sandra) Chapman, and Kathi Gray, all of Rawlins; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent Depaul Society, or a charity of the donors choice.
