Marvin Lee Lynch

August 10, 1938 — September 11, 2023

Encampment, WY

On September 11, 2023, Marvin Lee Lynch passed away after 85 wonderful years on Earth. Born August 10th, 1938, in Milliken, CO to Albert and Zenith Lynch, Marvin was the youngest of 9 children. Marvin was raised to be a hard worker with a kind and gentle demeanor.

On June 11th, 1958, Marvin married Nancy Chesnut, the love of his life.

While living in Milliken, CO they welcomed a son, Perry, who died shortly after birth, followed by another son, Thomas, and a daughter, Kimberly.

In 1966, Marvin wanted to be a cowboy and followed that dream to Wyoming where he worked on the Silver Spur Ranch. Many great memories were made while raising Tom and Kim on the ranch. In 1979, Marvin and Nancy moved to Encampment and Marvin took a job at Arch Mineral Mine driving a bulldozer. The same year he started working at Shively Hardware as an ag mechanic where he worked until his retirement in 2006. After retiring, Marvin was able to keep busy with many woodworking projects and family four-wheeling adventures. In recent years, Parkinson’s Disease slowed Marvin down considerably.

Marvin’s proudest accomplishments in life were his children and grandchildren. He also had a love for animals and had many beloved dogs.

Marvin is survived by Nancy, his wife of 65 years; children, Tom Lynch of Green River and Kim and husband John Sawyer of Casper; granddaughter Savannah and husband, Carl Froslie, of Billings, MT; grandson Tom Sawyer and wife, Sara, of Casper; great grandsons Anthony Wichman and Atlas Sawyer; great granddaughter Aurora Sawyer; sister Elaine Gesick of Milliken, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marvin is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ralph, Harry, Orval, Cecil, and Teddy; sisters Dorothy and Pearl; and son Perry.

Per Marvin’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. Cremation has taken place by Casada Funeral Home & Crematory in Rawlins, WY.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal. Love, your family.
