Martha Herrera

Martha Herrera (Lucero), of Rawlins, WY passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was born to Gilberto Lucero and Eliza Contreras on May 7, 1954, in Madera, Chihuahua. She attended school in Colorado, Chihuahua. She was a stay at home mother with her family. She married Earl George Herrera on December 8, 2007 in Rawlins, WY. Martha will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed by her family and all that knew her. Martha loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, being with her animals at the Herrera Ranch, traveling, and most of all being with her family. Martha was also a devoted Catholic and loved her Christian faith. She was preceded in death by her parents Gilberto Lucero and Eliza Contreras and her first husband Raul Nunez. Martha is survived by her husband Earl George Herrera; brothers, Socorro Lucero; Manuel Lucero; sisters, Cecilia Lucero (Tomas Martinez); Hilda Lucero; Norma Lucero (Manuel Contreras); Francisca Lucero (Luis Banda); half-sister Manuela Contreras (Leonel Perez); sons, Sergio (Leticia) Nunez; Mauricio Nunez (Luz Adriana Nauarro); Gildardo Nunez (Alicia Ayala); Stepchildren, Bert (Missy) Herrera; Georgeann (Mike) Martinez; and Carol Herrera. Grandchildren Maribel Fernandez, Abigail Nunez, Anahi Nunez, Arlete Nunez, Elizabeth Nunez, Irving Nunez and Danna Nunez. Step grandchildren, Amanda (Lucas) Medina, Joshua Herrera, Adrien Quintana, Gabriel Martinez, Jadon Martinez, Aleigha Lenoir, and Keona Herrera. Step great-grandchildren Lucas Medina, Jr., and Josiah Medina; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A rosary recitation is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, December 9, 2013 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. A funeral mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 10,2013 at the church with lunch served afterward at St. Joseph's school.
