Lorraine attended rural Fosston, Minnesota schools through the eighth grade. She then attended nursing school in Minneapolis, Minnesota and obtained her license to practice as an LPN. Lorraine was employed as a nurse in Minnesota and Idaho for two years. She also worked in various other occupations before she became a mother to seven children and babysitter to many other children who considered her their second mother. She was one of the kindest, sweetest and most generous women most of us have ever known and was always involved with her family and her friends. She was an avid book collector and turned that love, passion and hobby into a mail order business for several years. She loved country music and spent many hours listening by herself or with her family and friends at her home. She also took great joy in listening to music played and sung by friends at her home which she enjoyed along with a good, hot cup of her beloved coffee. She even added her own assistance on the piano on occasion. She was a religious and spiritual person, being a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. She was very active in Christ Lutheran Church for many years and could always be counted on to help in whatever activities needed assistance. She loved poetry and could recite many of her favorite verses verbatim. She loved games of chance of almost any kind and greatly enjoyed the day trips to Riverton she went on with family and friends. She also loved to travel, visiting Sweden twice where she met and connected with relatives. Other adventures included trips to Canada and the Holy Land with her brother, Bob. Survivors include her siblings, Carol Sorensen of Bemidji Minnesota, Ralph (Julie) Engen of Gig Harbor Washington, George (Donna) Engen of Laramie and O. A. (Bob) Engen of Los Angeles California; her children, Steven (Joan) Martindale of Laramie, Dave (Debbie) Walker, Peggy (Lee) Bonnett and Linda McLean, all of Rawlins and Lori Walker of Aurora, Colorado and John Walker of Dallas, Texas; twelve grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Norman Engen; her first husband, Floyd Martindale; her second husband, Melvin Walker; and her son, Ronald Walker. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to the charity of your choice in the loving memory of Lorraine Walker.
