Leo A. Sandoval, 67, of Rawlins passed away May 1, 2017 at his residence. He was born June 11, 1949 in Rock Springs, WY, to parents Eufelia (Archuleta) and Telesfor Sandoval. Leo graduated from Rawlins H.S., and retired in 2009 after 42 years with the Union Pacific Railroad. He married Eva Montoya on Dec. 28, 1999. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, poker runs, four-wheeling, reading antique car magazines, traveling, collecting eagles and knives, helping his neighbors and spending time with his family and fur babies, Babydoll and Chloe. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. He was a very kind and gentle man loved by everyone who knew him. He loved to laugh and always made people feel welcome and happy. Survivors include his loving wife, Eva Sandoval of Rawlins; daughters, Veronica (Tony) Sandoval, Crystal (Jordan) Sandoval of Rock Springs, WY, and Angel Montoya of Bellingham, WA; grandchildren, Drayden Maes, Kamaye Maes, Anastasia Lott, Jaden Romero, Breeana Romero and Tiana Halstead. Siblings include Teddy Sandoval of Lander, WY, Vaiola Sandoval, Wilma (Virgil) Lopez and Jody (Debbie) Sandoval all of Rawlins; Aunt, Lupe Archuleta of Arroyo Seco, NM In-laws, Chris (Barbara) Montoya of Rawlins, Flora Gonzales of Cheyenne, WY, Rita Montoya of Bellingham, WA, Helen (Sam) Martinez of Cheyenne, WY, Christine (Joe) Martinez of Cheyenne, WY, Connie Montoya of Rawlins, Julie (John) Montoya of Rawlins, Susie (Mark) Padilla of Cheyenne, WY; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joseph Melvin Sandoval; and numerous other relatives. A Vigil Service with recitation of the Rosary will be held on Sun. May 7, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Mon. May 8, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Father Sam Hayes will be the Celebrant. Pallbearers will be Drayden Maes, Joe Sandoval, Raymond Lopez, Vicente Lopez, Victor Lopez and Virgil Casados. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chris Montoya, Jody Sandoval, Teddy Sandoval, Kamaye Maes, Matthew Sandoval, Harvey Setzer, Frank Kitchen, Orlando Romero, Bobby Sandoval, Eddie Archuleta and Gilbert Martinez, Sr.
