Larry Harris, 82, of Cheyenne, WY passed away on June 7, 2017. He was born April 14, 1935 in Chariton, Iowa and moved to Rawlins, WY in 1939, before moving to Cheyenne one year ago. Larry graduated from Rawlins High School and attended two years at the University of Wyoming. Larry served in the Unites States Army from 1957 - 1959. Larry owned and operated Gene's Sporting Goods, later named Sports Corner, for nearly ten years and owned and operated Century 21 Real Estate for about 25 years. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, R-Club, Cowboy Joe Club, Elks Lodge, Odd Fellows Lodge, and trap shooting. He was also a sports enthusiast, traveler, and avid swimmer. Larry served on the board of Directors of Jeffrey Center Community Center and sponsored teams for Rawlins Baseball Association. Larry will be remembered for his quick wit, being the class clown, a back seat driver, and fun loving. Larry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nancy R. Harris; daughter, Valorie R. Smith; son, Sean K. Harris; granddaughters, Ann E. Cooper and Erin K. Brown; Great Granddaughters, Ann E. Cooper and Kendal E. Cooper; and Great Grandson, Bowen R. Cooper. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Rawlins Cemetery. In lieu of flowers or gifts, a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated..
