Kenneth Funk

Kenny Funk , age 68, passed away at his home in Rawlins on June 3, 2015. He was born on January 1, 1947 in Rawlins, WY to Chet and Lois Recker Funk. After graduating from Rawlins High School, he joined the Air Force, and later attended numerous schools and training in the field of law enforcement. Kenny worked as a police officer and detective for the City of Rawlins. He was an engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad at the time of his retirement.Kenny spent his free time hunting, fishing and sharing his love of the outdoors with others. He enjoyed welding and working in his shop, as well as teaching others about reloading and restoring firearms. Kenny was eager to teach and share his knowledge, could always be depended on to help, and was always willing to listen and give advice. He was a loving, caring, and thoughtful son, father, husband, papa, and true friend. Always a teacher and rock, who will be deeply missed. Left to honor the memory of Kenny are his wife, Gilberta Funk; sons, Cobey Funk , Brad (Charlotte) Funk, Dannie (Kristy) Jones, and Don (Billie) McGuin; as well as one daughter, June (Bob) Paridiso. His grandchildren, Zach and Jacob Funk, Crystal and Listat Gonzalez, Tristan, Timber and Breken McGuin, and Dustin Jones. Also surviving are one niece, Dee Dee Funk Murphy and one nephew, Robert Funk. Preceeding Kenny in death were his grandparents, Fred and Margaret Recker; his parents Chet and Lois Funk; and brother, Bob Funk. Pallbearers include Cobey and Brad Funk, Dannie Jones, Don McGuin, Ed Herbert and Chad Engstrom. Officiating will be Rev. Gene Washbourne. Burial with military honors will follow in the Rawlins Cemetery. A reception will be held at the First Southern Baptist Church.
