Kathy Schmuch

Kathleen Suzann Schmuch of Rawlins, Wyoming passed away on Friday, August 16, 20204 at home with her daughter by her side. She was 77 years old.

 Kathy was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on December 26, 1946. She married Edward Michael Schmuch in Los Angeles, California on June 20, 1963. She was involved in the establishment of the first suicide hotlines in southern California in the late 1960’s. In 1973 she, her husband Eddie and their two daughters moved from southern California to northern Minnesota. Within a few years, she and Eddie were involved in creating Harmony Food Buyers Cooperative.

 In 1983, Kathy and Eddie moved to Glenrock, Wyoming and remained there until 1985 when they returned to Bemidji, Minnesota. Following this move, Kathy started her business, Expanding Horizons Thru Technology. She retired from her business in 2012. During this time, she and Eddie were motorcycle enthusiasts and rode their bikes from coast to coast. In May of 2016, Kathy and Eddie moved to Halcyon, California and enjoyed the mild weather and the absence of a snow shovel. In May of 2024, Kathy moved in with her daughter, Vicki, in Rawlins, Wyoming.

She will be missed dearly by her daughter, Vicki Schmuch and her companion, ‘Lil Pooh. She was preceded by her daughter, Dawn Marie Stepien and her husband, Edward Michael Schmuch.
