Judy Martin

Judy Anne Martin (Kleinschmidt), 67, of Rawlins, passed away August 19, 2013, at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center surrounded by loved ones. She was born September 3, 1945, in Casper, to Allen and Veva Kleinschmidt. She graduated from Natrona County High School in 1963. Judy married her loving husband, Don Martin on November 22, 1971. She is survived by her husband; children: Wade (Megan) Martin, Jeff (Shelly) Martin, and Shelly (John) Collier; grandchildren: Erik and Alex Collier, Jordan, Justin, Madison and Max Martin, Cherisa Wyant and Mariah Sherman. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives, including cousins who were more like her siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Linda Kleinschmidt. Along with her husband, Judy raised a close loving family; her focus was on her children and grandchildren. Many weekends were spent at the family cabin in Ryan Park enjoying time with her family and keeping her hummingbirds fed. Over the many years spent at the cabin, she enjoyed fishing and riding 4-wheelers, snowmobiles and motorcycles. Judy's grandchildren were the light of her life; in her eyes, they were all perfect and she was always their biggest fan. She enjoyed watching their sporting events, fair activities and just spending time with them. Judy never knew a stranger and didn't hesitate to tell them how wonderful her grandchildren were and how proud she was of them. Most recently, Judy drove cars for Fremont Motors with her husband, Don. This took them all over the state of Wyoming and enabled them to make frequent stops at the Casino in Riverton. Judy fought a courageous battle with her diabetes and kidney disease over the years. She was a "poster child" for what a person should do to live with diabetes. She never let her health issues control her life, she controlled them. Services will be held at the Carbon County Funeral Home in Rawlins on Sat. Aug. 24, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. A private burial will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org.
