Joyce Jean Kelley passed away January 23, 2019 at the Rawlins Rehabilitation and Wellness Center after battling Alzheimer's for several years. She was 85 years old. Joyce Jean Ward Kelley was born on January 21, 1934 to Velma and Harold Ward in Hubert, Nebraska. She lived many places growing up, including Spokane Washington, before settling in Rawlins, Wyoming where she met Clyde Kelley. They were married December 17, 1955 and made their home in Rawlins. Joyce worked many places during her many years in Rawlins including Bi-Rite Drug store, KRAL radio station, and Carbon County Memorial Hospital. Joyce continued working past the age of 80! Her favorite position was Curator of the Carbon County Museum. She enjoyed history, giving tours, and joined many organizations to promote the museum. Joyce was a regular at the Rawlins Senior Center, a member of the Church of Christ, and took part in senior bowling. She loved spending time with her brother, Keith Ward, and his family. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Clyde in 1993: mother and step-father, Velma and Earl Jordan; her father, Harold Ward; brother, Charles; and sister, Dolores; as well as several aunts and uncles. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Barbara Ward of Rawlins, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Joyce will be held on April 6, 2019 at 10:00 am in the Jacoby Funeral Home Chapel. Honorary pallbearers are Thomas, Matthew and Nathan Peyton; Steve, Jacob and Joshua Kovachevich; and Kevin and Kris Ward.
