Joyce Burke

Joyce Ann Burke, 71, of Rawlins, passed away on March 20, 2012, at her residence. Funeral services will take place on Friday, March 23, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at Rostad Mortuary. Father Sam Hayes will officiate. Interment will follow in the Rawlins Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 22, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Rostad Mortuary. Joyce was born July 9, 1940, in Cheyenne, to parents Mary (Streeter) and John Beach. She was married to Jerry Burke on January 10, 1959, in Cheyenne. They moved to Rawlins in 1968, where she and her husband operated Burke's Conoco at 5th and Spruce for 35 years before retiring in 2002. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing bingo, and anything that involved her family. She will be dearly missed. Survivors include her husband, Jerry; son, Jim (& Dawn) Burke of Lubbock, TX; daughter, Joy (& Michael) Fleet of Rawlins; grandchildren, Josh Bergquist of Rawlins and Jace and McKenna Burke of Lubbock, TX; and sister-in-law, Patty Burke of Rawlins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Beach and grandparents, Harry and Ann Streeter.
