Jose M. Lucero entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 25, 2012 at South Central Healthcare and Rehabiliation at the age of 92. He had been a resident there since 2006. Mr. Lucero was born on December 5, 1919 in Rosita, N.M. to Florencio and Charlotte Lucero. He married Virginia Coca and they were parents to five children. They moved to Rawlins in the late 1940's. He retired from the Union Pacific Railroad in 1982. He will be remembered as a quiet, hardworking man with values, who will be greatly missed Preceeding him in death were his parents, one sister, one brother, and his beloved wife in 1984 He is survived by his five children, daughter Theresa Majors of Colorado; sons Frank (Patsy), Len (Donna), and Joe, all of Rawlins; and his favorite son, Mark, of California. He is also survived by three sisters, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation was held Tuesday, May 29, 2012. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 30, at 10:00 a.m.at Rostad Mortuary. Cremation will follow.
