John Miles

John Miles passed away on June 28, 2014 in Rawlins, WY at the age of 68. He fought a short, brave battle with anaplastic thyroid cancer. He was born May 11, 1946 in Denver, CO to Normand Miles and Albertina (Gronberg) Miles. John was raised in the Indian Hills and Evergreen, Colorado area. He and his family moved to Rawlins in August of 1976. In 1978, he opened a furniture store and was thereafter self-employed at Golden Rule Enterprises in Rawlins for 35 years. John is survived by Diane, his wife of 40 years; sons, Brian (Allison) Miles of Tualatin, OR and Keith (Cindi) Miles of Rawlins, WY; daughter, Brenda (Andrew) Morgan of Encampment, WY; son-in-law, Jeff Tromburg; eight grandchildren, Vicki Tromburg, Kelli (Seth) Allen, Greg Tromburg, Jennifer Morgan, Emily Morgan, Glen Morgan, Natalie Miles and Garrett Miles; four great-grandsons; his mother, Albertina Miles Parks of Anchorage, AK; sisters, Marilyn (Dwight) Buechler, Nancy Struempler, Cyndi (Milt) Parks and Tina Marie (Tom) Hardwick; and half-brother, Steve Pearce. John was preceded in death by his daughters, Christina Dawn Miles and Jennifer Miles Tromburg; father, Normand Ronald Miles; and stepfather, Forrest Parks. In lieu of flowers, John requested donations be made to the Wyoming Medical Center Foundation for the Angels program or Masterson Place, 1233 E. 2nd St., Casper, Wyoming 82601.
