John Norman Johanson, Sr. of Rawlins, Wyoming passed away Monday, July 11, 2022, at the age of 82.
John was born on February 8, 1940, in Rawlins, Wyoming, where he lived most of his life. John went to school in Rawlins and graduated from Rawlins Senior High. Shortly after graduating, he joined the Coast Guard and served from 1959 – 1963. He received a medal of Good Conduct and an Honorable Discharge. After leaving the Coast Guard, he returned to Rawlins where he met his love, Sue.
John and Sue were married on July 7, 1964. They raised two daughters and a son. John loved fishing, floating the river, and the Pittsburg Steelers.
John will be missed by his wife Sue of 58 years, daughters Susan (Pat) Adams and Dixie (Mike) Hill. His seven grandchildren: Jennifer, Christina, Boots, Logan, Kailee, Natalia, Jacob and five great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his sisters-in-law: Kathleen Johnson and Shirley Johanson and their families. Also special friends Abe and Gayle Sanchez.
John is preceded in death by his son John Jr., both parents, two brothers Roy & Raymond, his sister Darlene and numerous family members.
Per request of John, there will be no services and cremation are to take place.
