Joan Jaure, 84, of Rawlins passed away peacefully May 1, 2017 at the Rawlins Rehabilitation and Wellness Center with her family at her side. She was born March 12, 1933 in Roswell, NM to parents Rose (Valdez) and Louis Resendez. She moved to Rawlins at a young age with her aunt, Rose Resendez. In 1949, she met and married Leo Paul Jaure, and the two started their family of 11 children. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and devoted homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking birthday cakes, crocheting, sewing and knitting. She always made a point of making sure all of her children felt special and everyone felt welcome in their home. In 1977, she and Leo became owner operators of the Cloverleaf Café. She had a strong work ethic and enjoyed working beside her family and friends. After 15 years, they retired and transferred the business to Sam and Juanita Campos. Survivors include her children, Gen (Wes) Haas, Charlie (Kathleen) Jaure, Marion Jaure, Juanita (Sam) Campos, Esther (Anthony) Lovato, Lavonn "Tico" Kulmus, Tony (Brenda) Jaure, Pat (Susan) Jaure, Lisa (Enie Jaramillo) Jaure, Paul (Patty) Jaure and Joan "Melissa" (Jon) Lubbers; and 66 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo Paul Jaure; granddaughters, Brittnay Sandoval, Jamie Jaure Campbell, Erica Jaure Frittz and Baby, Haas; and great-grandchildren, Anton Lubbers and Julio Archuleta. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Fri. May 5, 2017 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Father Sam Hayes will be the Celebrant. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Season, Chuck, Amy, Jenny, Jesse, Felicia, Lita, Royce, Rory, Marquard, Zach, Tyrone, Cash, Cameron, Clint, Santos, Eli, Tawsha, Meagan, Azaria and Selena. Interment will follow in the Rawlins Cemetery.
