Joan M. Buchholtz, 73, of Rawlins passed away on April 9, 2015. She was born on February 5, 1942 in Norfolk, VA to Edward and Virginia Culpepper. Joan was a 1960 graduate of Norview High School in Norfolk, VA. Throughout her life she worked various secretarial positions before giving 16 years of her life working for the City of Chesapeake, Virginia, in the Public Works Department; a career she thoroughly enjoyed, before moving to Rawlins, WY 17 years ago. She was a resident in Chesapeake, VA, as well as Virginia Beach, VA, Pine Bluffs, WY and Kimball, NE where she met her husband, Leroy "Buck" Buchholtz. She will always be remembered as a fiery free spirit who marched to the beat of her own drum and an avid collector of many things, not limited to bears, dolls and stamps. She had many hobbies which included antiquing, sewing, and of course shopping. She is survived by her husband Leroy (Buck) of 36 years; Sister Janet and brother-in-law William Berry of Pickerington, Ohio; Son John Kleven of Richmond, Va; Step children Pat Taylor, Don Buchholtz, Bonnie Nilsen, Duke Buchholtz and their families; Granddaughter Nicole and husband Joshua Rickman and great-granddaughter of Virginia Beach, Va. She is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Virginia Culpepper and step-son Alan Buchholtz.
