On March 30, 2024, Jared Bud Wille, left this mortal existence for a peaceful one in heaven. It was his 30th birthday.
Except for two years in the Phoenix, Arizona area serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jared spent all his life in the Little Snake River Valley, living in both Dixon and Baggs.
He worked in the gas field as a roustabout and a pumper, and most recently as an equipment operator and project lead in northwest Colorado. He had also worked for the Carbon County Weed and Pest and owned his own weed spraying business, Loco Creek Contracting.
Jared especially loved hunting trips on Brown Hills with his brother and cousins. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved his community and was the driving force behind many community events. He had been the Baggs Fire Chief, an emergency medical responder, a member of the Baggs Town Council, and was a founding member of the C.A.R.E.S. organization (a fire department auxiliary that provides meals for funerals and other service projects). He re-established the community tradition of a Christmas lights parade for the last three years. He was also a 4-H leader for shooting sports. He graduated from LSRV School in 2012, and was active in FFA and other school activities.
Jared was known for his generous heart, his big grin, and his leadership in organizing activities. He loved to work, and he loved to “live life big.” He especially loved his little boy, Logan.
Jared is survived by his wife, Tamara Handa Wille, and his son, Logan James Wille; as well as his parents, Oliver R. and Tomi Sue Wille, his siblings, Ryan (Jesse) Wille, and nieces Parker Sue and Oliva Rose (of Rexburg, ID), and Whitney (Adam) Garza (of El Paso, TX). He is also survived by his grandparents, Lesa Lee Wille (of Baggs) and Joel and Susan Bousman (of Boulder, WY), as well as many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by his in-laws: Orlando Handa and Leila Tirado (Lima, Peru), Mayumi (Josh) Thompson (Eagle Mountain, UT), Kaori Handa and Hana Handa (Lima, Peru), as well as many other friends. Jared was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Oliver R. (Bud) Wille; his friends, Daniel Starks and Bill Bonger; and his adopted ‘uncle’, Casey McKee.
A celebration of life will be held April 27, 3:00 p.m., at the Valley Community Center in Baggs, Wyo., with a meal and reception to follow at the Baggs Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
