James "Jim" Walter Sabin, 85, of Sinclair, WY, passed away June 11, 2014. He was born July 13, 1928, in Madelia, MN, to parents Gladys (Franklin) and George Sabin. Memorial services will take place on Sat. June 14, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Sinclair Baptist Church in Sinclair, WY. Pastor Mike Holmes will officiate. Jim served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1948. He was married to Verla Lee Morris on Sept. 13, 1952, and the couple made their home in Sinclair, where they have resided for the past 53 years. Jim worked for the Sinclair Refinery for 30 years before retiring on Oct. 28, 1983. He was a lifetime member of the 609 Elks and Odd Fellows Lodge. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Verla Sabin; daughter, Nancy (Randy) Whitehead of Rock Springs, WY; sons, Ken Sabin of Apache Lake, AZ, Don (Annette) Sabin of Elko, NV and Joe (Teri) Bird of Garden City, KS; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four brothers; and two sisters.
