Ida Lopez

Ida Pricilla Lopez, 81, formerly of Rawlins, passed away Mar. 20, 2016 in Wheat Ridge, CO. She was born May 19, 1934 in Garcia, CO to parents Elva (Segura) and Phil Samora. A Vigil Service with recitation of the Rosary will be held on Sun. Mar. 27, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Mon. Mar. 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Sam Hayes as the Celebrant. Pallbearers will be Shane Maes, Chad Lopez, Matt Zamora, Adam Rosales, Eppy Lopez and Jorge Carballo. Honorary Pallbearers will be Anthony Lopez, David Guerrero William Cheveria, Manuel Samora, Gabriel Lopez, Angelo Sage and Little Shane Maes. Interment will follow in the Rawlins Cemetery. Ida was married to Max Vincent Lopez on Nov. 21, 1949 in San Luis, CO. She came to Wyoming in 1968 and had been an active member of the community for many years. She served as President for Concerned Citizens of the South Side and a member of both the Snowy Range Community Action Group and Western Action Group. She had been a Scout Den Leader and a sponsor for the C.Y.O. Prior to her retirement, she had worked as a Nurse's Aide for Park Manor and Valley View in Saratoga and Vella Vita Towers in Denver. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rawlins. Survivors include her children, Richard Lopez of Denver, CO, Fran Maes of Denver, CO, Charles A. Lopez of Casper, WY, Jerry R. Lopez of Denver, CO and Joseph A. Lopez of Rawlins, WY; brothers and sisters, Gloria Trujillo of Rawlins, WY, Joan Montoya of Rawlins, WY, Albert Zamora of Rawlins, WY and Oliver Samora of Pocatello, ID and Joe Zamora of Denver, CO; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Dorothy Ann; son, Johnny A. Lopez; brother, Phil Samora, Jr.; and an infant son who passed away during childbirth.
