Gladys Greene

Gladys Marie Greene, age 84, of Rawlins, WY passed away on October 17, 2014. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Christ Lutheran Church in Rawlins. Pastor Terry Wiley will officiate Gladys was born in Alliance, NE on November 1, 1929 to Violet Mae and Henry A. Shoopman. Gladys was married to Bud Greene on December 13, 1946 in Billings, MT. They were married for 67 years. Gladys worked at Casper Hospital for two years before moving to Rawlins, where she worked as a nurse's aid and pharmacy tech for twenty-one years at Memorial Hospital of Carbon County. She also worked as a dispatcher for Union Pacific Railroad. She enjoyed camping, watching all sports - especially the Denver Broncos - and her family. She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church. Gladys is survived by her husband, Bud, of Rawlins; her sister, Nellie Corley, of Thermopolis; three sons, Robert (Michelle) of Parker, CO; Stan (Jeannie) of Vernal, UT; and Jay, of Rawlins; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and other family and friends. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Lloyd, Warren and Leroy Shoopman; and her son, James Greene. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. The family offers a special thanks to all of her heath care providers during the last days of her life.
