Gilbert Cruz, resident of Rawlins, Wyoming, passed away on December 24, 2020, at Memorial Hospital of Carbon County at the age of 70 years.
Gilbert was life-long resident of Rawlins from the time he was born to Jake and Grace Cruz on May 10, 1950 in Rawlins, Wyoming. He attended school in Rawlins graduating in 1968. Gilbert and Beverly were married for 49 years. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He worked 35 years for the Union Pacific Railroad as a locomotive engineer.
He loved the outdoors fishing and hunting with this sons and grandchildren.
He was a very honest and loving man, always made sure to take care of those he loved and will to help someone in need.
He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be sadly missed by his wife; Beverly,
sons; Gilbert, Jr. (Doreen), Eric, Corey (fiancé’ Hailey Keller), nine grandchildren; Carlos, Marcus, Otto, Taylor, Noah, Katrina, Leah, Cashious, and Carter, four great-grandchildren; Jacob, Jordan, Ezmeryn, and Luciano, brothers; Gene, Leroy, David, Benji, Herman, sisters; Frances and Sylvia, former daughter-in-law Paula.
He was preceded in death by brothers; Earnest and Neri and sisters; Fidencia and Charlotte.
A mass will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 219 W. Pine Street, Rawlins, WY 82301
