George Wesley Bass, 82, of Rawlins, Wyoming passed away on March 27, 2016. He was born in Wister, Oklahoma on February 13, 1934 to parents Henry and Mandy Bass. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Carbon County Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Carbon County Funeral Home, with Pastor Steve Monroe officiating. George was a Korean War veteran and first apprentice jockey (1948). He worked in the oilfield. After retirement, he worked as a maintenance supervisor. His hobbies included gardening, fishing, boating, camping, and cheering on his Kansas City Chiefs. George will always be remembered as quick witted, funny, and smart and for his love for his wife and family. Survivors include George's wife of 63 years, Patricia Marlene Bass: brothers and sisters, Clarence Bass of Rawlins, WY; Helen Stabile of Newport Richie, FL; Betty Maddux of Kansas City, MO; and Edna Mullinx of Kansas City, MO: his three sons, Wesley Bass and wife, Kathy of Kansas City, MO; Daniel Bass and wife, Merry Ellen of Hartwell, GA; Greg Bass and wife, Brenda of Rawlins, WY: his two daughters, Connie Fletcher and husband, Roy L. of Houston, TX; and Marlena Beran and husband, Jacob J. of Dime Box, TX: 15 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mandy Bass; his daughter, Alverta Yvonne Bass; and his brother, Dean Bass.
