Evelyn Hammer

Evelyn Patricia Connerly Hammer, 91, a resident of Encampment since 1925, passed away Oct. 17, 2013, at the Deseret Health & Rehabilitation Center in Saratoga. Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Encampment Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in the Encampment Cemetery. Evelyn was born Mar. 17, 1922, in Logan County, CO to parents Mildred (Lockwood) and David Connerly. She graduated from Encampment High School in 1940 and was married to Robert Lee "Mike" Hammer in Rawlins on Sept. 14, 1940. She was a lifetime member of the Encampment Presbyterian Church, and an active member of Encampment Presbyterian Women and the Encampment Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mike; and her only sister, Phyllis Helm of Laramie. Survivors include two sons: David Ross (Linda) Hammer of Encampment and Tommy Joe (Susan) Hammer of Mesquite, NV; two daughters: Joan Beth (Clyde) Thrasher of Saratoga and Kay Louise (John) Behrens of Marana, AZ; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Hammer's memory to the Encampment Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 745, Encampment, WY 82325-0745 or to the Sagebrush Senior Center, P.O.
