Elizabeth T. Archuleta

November 27, 1929 — November 20, 2022

Rawlins

Elizabeth T. Archuleta was called to her heavenly home on November 20, 2022, surrounded by her family, and just 7 days shy of her 93rd birthday. She was born in Rawlins, WY, one of five children born to Ruben and Lucy Trujillo.

Elizabeth married Jesus Abe Archuleta at the age of fifteen in Rawlins. They were happily married for twenty-seven years and raised five children until the untimely death of her husband, Abe, at the age of forty-two. Elizabeth enjoyed working beside her husband in his endeavors, especially being his bookkeeper in the restaurant businesses they owned in Jeffery City and Lander, Wyoming. She worked in the motel industry for many years and enjoyed working with the Green Thumb Program at the Rawlins Child Development Center after her retirement, where she made many lifelong friends.

Her greatest pleasures were spending time with her family, having her friends come to visit her, gardening, baking, going “rock hunting” with her siblings, riding around town at Christmas to see all the lighted houses and her extensive chicken collection.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Joan (Albert) Zamora, Beverly Archuleta, and Eddie Archuleta of Rawlins and Shelley Van Cleve of Casper. She leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Irene (Wilfred) Martinez and Pauline Medina; brother-in-law, Art, and Frank Archuleta; sister-in-law, Sally (Melvin) Hamilton; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her fur baby, Kitty.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Abe Archuleta; infant son, Felix; son, Pete Archuleta; daughter, Betty Najera; grandson, Paul A. Zamora; her parents, Ruben and Lucy Trujillo; grandparents, Leandro and Pablita Montano; brothers, Ernest (Shirley) and Rudy Trujillo; parents-in-law Estevan and Mary Archuleta; sisters-in-law, Mary (Ronald) Li, Eugenie Archuleta, and Minnie (Tony) Pacheco; brothers-in-law, Joe, and Elud (Mary) Archuleta and numerous extended relatives.

Elizabeth has been cremated and interred at Rawlins Cemetery beside her husband Abe.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Friday, November 25, 2022, at 11:00 AM. A Rosary service will take place prior at 10:00 AM.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jacoby Funeral Home, Rawlins, WY.
