Elaine Burge

Elaine Butterfield Burge, 87, of Saratoga, Wyoming, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Saratoga Cemetery Pavilion with Teense Wilford officiating. Elaine was born in Cripple Creek, Colorado to Henry and Mildred Dickinson on August 30, 1930. She went to school in Cripple Creek, Colorado and Rawlins, Wyoming. She married Dick Butterfield on March 16, 1950 in Rawlins, Wyoming. They had 3 children, Cathy Jean, Cheri Lynn, and Charles Lance. They moved to Saratoga, Wyoming in 1958, where she worked side by side with her husband on the ranch and raised their children. In 1978, she and Dick divorced. She married Tom Burge in 1982. She found her calling as the head housekeeper at Old Baldy Club, where she worked for 31 years. She also worked as a librarian at the Saratoga Branch Library for many years. She loved square dancing, oil painting, ceramics, fishing, riding horses, golfing, reading, gardening and gambling. She loved her dogs! Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mildred Dickinson; Dick Butterfield and Tom Burge; and close cousin, Larry Deti. Elaine is survived by children, Cathy (Rick) Price, Cheri Butterfield and Charlie Butterfield; grandchildren, Traci (Bobby) Price Stohrer, Todd (Leanne) Price, Trevor Price and Amanda Butterfield Kelley; great-grandchildren, Trennon Price, Ryland Price, Brayson Price, Madison Stohrer and Bailee Stohrer. The family of Elaine wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Jacoby Funeral Home, Teense Wilford, Saratoga Care Center and The Flower Pot. Elaine will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
