     Edward and Karen Martinez will have a celebration of their lives on Saturday, July 27, 2024. The memorial will begin at the Rawlins Cemetery to place their urns at 1 PM with a reception to follow at the Rochelle Ranch Golf Course restaurant from 2 until 4. Friends and family are invited to share the many memories and experiences we all shared. 

     Ed was born in Rawlins, Wyoming to his parents Victor and Angela Martinez on March 30, 1952. After graduating from Rawlins Schools he and his wife Karen raised three children in Rawlins and in Elko, Nevada. Karen and Eddy were married in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rawlins. Ed passed away May 4, 2021 in Reno, Nevada. 

    Karen was born in Rawlins to her parents Ken and Alice Keldsen on July 31, 1953. After graduating high school she and Eddy made their home in Rawlins until moving all to Elko, Nevada in 1990. Karen passed away February 22, 2024 in Reno, Nevada. 

     The Martinez’s eventually moved to Reno and enjoyed their retirement and being grandparents. They enjoyed golfing, skiing, hunting, fishing and loved being near their family. Ed and Karen are preceded in death by their parents, Eddy’s brothers Victor and Teddy and Karen’s parents and sister Pam and brother Chris. 

     Karen and Ed are survived by their daughter in Reno Alix Martinez (Brandon) with granddaughter Zakiah and grandson Kayden . Son in Las Vegas Eli Martinez with granddaughter Isabela. Son in Elko Aaron Martinez (Amber) with granddaughters Sydnee and Kylee. The family is also survived by Karen and Ed’s brother Jim Keldsen (Valentina) with their children Jamie and Kenneth in Rawlins.
