Surrounded by his family, Edward Lester Bleicher, resident of Rawlins, Wyoming, passed away on March 29, 2024 at UC Health Medical Center of the Rockies at the age of 89 years. Edward was born on April 7, 1934, to Bruno and Bertha Bleicher of Chicago, Illinois. He grew up in Winnamac, Indiana. On September 26, 1970, Edward married the love of his life, Elaine Bleicher. Out of that union came three children, Paul, Phillip, and Daniel. Edward and Elaine settled in Rawlins in 2015 to be closer to family.
Edward was a proud U.S. Marine and Korean War veteran. He faithfully served with the local VFW and volunteered at the Senior Citizens Center in Rawlins. Edward loved learning other languages and could speak several well. His family was the center of his life, and he loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren fiercely. Edward knew no strangers and would do anything for anybody. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Edward is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Elaine Bleicher, his children Paul (Anne) Bleicher of Ten Sleep, WY, Phillip (Karen) Bleicher of Tempe, AZ, and Daniel (Penny) Bleicher of Rawlins, WY. Grandchildren include Emily, Elizabeth, Curtis, Tori, David, Noah, Gabriel, Daphne and Cassidy. Edward is also survived by two great grandchildren: Payton and Roslyn. Edward was preceded in death by his parents Bruno and Bertha, brothers Bob, Carl, Art, Louie and George, and by his sisters Esther and Gertrude.
A memorial service will be held on April 27, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Harvestime Ministries located at 822 W. Walnut, Rawlins WY. A graveside service will be held on April 5th at 1:00 PM at the Rawlins Cemetery, 915 3rd Street.Friday, April 5, 2024
