Donnie Dean Heberling, Sr. died at his home in Hanna on June 5th of end stages of C.O.P.D. He was born in Sturgis, SD to Glen and Norma (Pat) Heberling on Dec.11, 1947. At the age of 17, with his fathers consent, he joined the Army. He served for 7 yrs. 23 days with 1 yr 3 mo 24 days of that being 2 tours in Vietnam. After leaving the Army he lived in Louisiana for a couple years. He later moved to Colorado, meeting and marrying Susan Richardson on Dec. 4, 1974. Together they had 2 daughters. In Feb. 1976, he moved to Hanna, WY to work in the coal mines. He worked at Energy, Carbon County Coal Company and Cyprus coal mines. After working for the coal mines he had odd jobs until his health declined and could no longer work. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and working on vehicles in his garage. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved his dogs Chloe and Toby and his cat Riley. He especially loved when great-granddaughter Alayna would come almost daily for visits and candy. He will be greatly missed by all of his family. He is survived by wife, Susan Heberling of Hanna; two daughters, Stacy Harper and fiance, John Hyde of Boulder, WY and Carrie and Karson Garner of Trevose, PA; two sisters, Verda and Bob Oliver of Montesano, WA and Glenda Cole of Loveland, CO; two granddaughters, Keela Heberling-Wallace and fiance, Joshua Pflieger, and Tonya Buckendorf, all of Hanna; a step-grandson, Jase Hyde of Boulder, CO; great-granddaughter, Alayna Hazel Bergeron and unborn great-granddaughter, Traeh Kaylee Ann Pflieger; and several nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents; step-mother, Lex; two brothers, Dale Heberling and Ricky Sabin; sister, Jayne Heying; and two granddaughters, Michelle and Shyla Baker.
