Longtime resident Donald Lee Olinger passed away August 5, 2015 in Rawlins, WY. He was born February 12, 1947 in Garden City, KS to parents Kenneth Lee Olinger and Kathryn Louise Olinger "Bell". Donald was a 1965 graduate of Rawlins High School. After school, Don worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, retiring after 40 years of service. He was an active member of the community serving on the Parks and Recreation Board. Remembered and loved for his contributions to the youth of Rawlins coaching baseball, football, and basketball over 28 years. Donald love working with kids and inspired them to be better athletes and citizens, taking these lessons from the field into their lives. Donald enjoyed golfing with friends, landscaping his yard, and creating decorative latch-hook rugs. Don was passionate about following his favorite teams, especially the Denver Broncos. Donald truly loved helping friends and family in his spare time lending a helping hand whenever needed. Donald Lee Olinger is survived by his wife, Karen Sue Olinger "Medlock"; mother, Kathryn Olinger; brother, Chuck Olinger; daughter, Melissa Olinger; son, Kenneth Olinger; son, Chad Olinger. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
