David "Dave" Fagnant

David "Dave" Fagnant, 62, of Palmetto, FL and former long-time resident of Rawlins, WY passed away in his home on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. Dave was born May 9th, 1962 in Rawlins, WY, the son of Ernest and Agnes Fagnant. He is a 1980 graduate of Rawlins High School.  After graduation, Dave attended WyoTech, graduating in 1981. He married his high school sweetheart, Pamela “Pam” Deist on September 10^th, 1983. Rawlins was where they lived and raised their two children, Karl and Jackie, the loves of his life. In 1987, Dave joined the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office. For the next 20 years, he served as a Deputy Sheriff spending most of his career as the lone Deputy on the graveyard shift.  Upon retirement in 2007, he promptly started working in the natural gas industry then, in 2008, Dave began his second career with Williams. He quickly worked himself into promotions that led him away from Rawlins, to Tulsa, OK and eventually to current his home in Palmetto, FL where he had since resided. When Dave moved to Florida, he met his fiancée, Lynne Bennett. The two shared a home and were to be wed in August 2024.

Dave will always be remembered as a proud, loving father, husband, son, brother, and friend. His greatest source of pride and joy was his family. He was a tireless worker, both at home and with his careers. His bigger than life stature and presence will always be remembered.

Dave is survived by his son, Karl; daughter, Jackie (Nick); granddaughter, Rylee; fiancée, Lynne; brother Mike (Cindy) Fagnant; nieces and nephews, Matt Fagnant and family, Shaun Fagnant and family, and Sarah (Fagnant) Streams and family; in-laws Laura Deist, Jodie Deist-Fairhurst, Jeff (Lisa), Eric (Judy), Sara Deist and their respective families. He is preceded in death by his wife, Pam; parents Ernest and Agnes, and father-in-law, Al Deist.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Jeffrey Center. A light luncheon and refreshments will follow.
