Crystal Lynn Day died December 8, 2012 at Carbon County Memorial Hospital as the result of a heart attack and complications of diabetes. She was surrounded by those that loved her. Crystal was born to Dave and Judi Day on March 31, 1975 in Rawlins, Wyoming. She attended schools here and graduated from Rawlins High School in 1994. One of Crystal's favorite past times was riding 4-wheelers with her Grandma Day on Elk Mountain. She had a special closeness to her Grandma and they spent many hours together. Crystal liked to crochet and had made many afghans. She loved wolves and collected many items with wolf pictures on them. Her favorite thing in life was spending time with her daughters, Tammy and Lexie. They were her pride and joy. Crystal had worked at several places in Rawlins through the years. For many years she worked at Palmers Playhouse. She loved working with, and being around young children. She learned sign language while working there and continued to use that skill. At Kum and Go she began as a cashier, and within one year had advanced to manager. Under her management, the store won corporate awards for excellent customer service and highest income producing store in Wyoming. At the time of her death she was working at TA Travel Center in the mechanical shop area. By enrolling in the TA General Manager Training Program she was working towards being a General Manager. She loved her job and many of her co-workers had become close friends. Crystal was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dale and Erma Nickerson, and Ralph and Maureen Day; as well as her step-father, Walt Roche.Crystal is survived by her two daughters, Tamala Day and Alexis Clingman and her dad, Dave (Tink) Day, all of Rawlins. Her mom, Judi Roche of Washington; sisters, Debi (Randy) Schuman of Idaho, April (Nichole) Day of Arizona and brother Jimmy (Ranae) of Rawlins; her loving companion of many years, Mitchel Graus; and close friend Leslie Firkins; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Rawlins. A fund has been established at the Bank of Commerce to benefit her daughters and to help with final expenses.
