Moises Cipriano Sanchez, 94, of Rawlins passed away peacefully Dec. 16, 2017. He was born Sept. 4, 1923 in Arroyo Seco, NM to Juan Sanchez and Fidelina Romero. On May 9, 1957, he was married to Helen Sanchez, and they had five children. He enjoyed praying, fishing, camping and taking care of his chickens and goats. He also loved having his glass of wine and occasional shot of whiskey. He had worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 33 years. Survivors include three sons, Cipriano (Rosie) Sanchez, Jr., John (Eva) Sanchez and Phil (Elsie) Sanchez; two step-daughters, Judy (Brian) Stenum and Olivia (Colin) Pearman; brother, Eugene (Cora) Sanchez; special granddaughter, Angela Sanchez, who took such good care of him; 19 additional grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen; sister, Epimena Sanchez; son, Moises Sanchez; daughter, Berlinda Sanchez; grandson, Brian Sanchez; and step-daughter, Carmen Bailon. The Rosary will be held on Fri. Dec. 22, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rawlins. Father Sam Hayes will be the Celebrant.
