Christopher William Johnson, a beacon of joy and enthusiasm, was born on June 11, 2004, in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Tragically, departed this world far too soon on February 14, 2025, following a devastating motor vehicle accident. His presence was a gift; those who knew him will forever remember his infectious smile, animated personality, and profound kindness.
Christopher was an accomplished young man who graduated from Rawlins High School in 2022. He left an indelible mark on his peers, not only as a standout athlete—playing Varsity Football, Basketball, Soccer, and Wrestling—but also as a diligent student, achieving Honors Grades. His passion for life extended beyond academics and sports, demonstrating his dedication as a major Esports College Athlete during his year at LCCC, where he pursued a degree in Criminal Justice.
In his professional life, Christopher found his calling as an Operator at HF Sinclair, taking pride in passing the D test for the Reformer Unit. His drive and commitment to excellence were evident to all who had the pleasure of working alongside him.
Christopher filled every room with laughter, bringing warmth and light to everyone around him. Known for his larger-than-life personality, he was often the life of the party and possessed a contagious laugh that could uplift the spirits of even the most weary souls. He was not just a friend but a protector, always the one to tell you what you needed to hear, offering guidance that was "usually" spot on.
Outside of his studies and work, Christopher reveled in hobbies that allowed him to connect with nature and his friends. He loved hunting, fishing, gaming, and golfing, finding joy in every opportunity to make memories with those he cherished. He took particular pride in owning his guns, shooting his first elk, and honing his fishing skills. The simple pleasures of life brought him immense happiness, and he shared that joy with everyone around him.
Christopher leaves behind a loving family who will forever carry his spirit in their hearts. He is survived by his father Shawn Allen Johnson, his mother Brenda Leigh Johnson, and his sister Faith Marie Johnson. He also leaves behind his beloved grandparents, William "Dick" (Judy) Winzenried and Edwin (Linda) Johnson Jr. A network of uncles—including William "Bill" Winzenried, Tyler Johnson, James Johnson, and Jordan Johnson—along with aunt and uncle Travis (Holly) Law, and cousins Autumn Winzenried and Zoe Law, will also hold his memory dear.
Christopher was preceded in death by beloved family members, including his grandparents Samuel (Sueann) Bethia and Joanne (Bobby) Kienast, as well as his grandfathers William Winzenried, Edwin Johnson, Sr., and Gene Grubaugh, and his grandmothers Burleen Johnson and Maxine Grubaugh.
In celebration of Christopher's remarkable life, a Viewing will be held at the Jeffrey Center in Rawlins, Wyoming, on February 23, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. It is during this gathering that all who loved Christopher can come together to share stories and honor the vibrant spirit that touched so many lives.
Though Christopher’s time on earth was brief, the impact he had on everyone who knew him will last a lifetime. His dreams and plans continue to inspire, and his love will echo in the hearts of those he left behind.
