Bruce L. Baugh

May 29, 1960 — November 28, 2024

Rawlins, WY

Bruce Baugh was born May 29th, 1960, in Logan Utah to the parents Lyle Hutchinson Baugh and Renee Nelson. He was the middle child and the only boy of five children. Bruce had fond memories of his early childhood at riding bikes and fishing. At 11 yrs old his family left Logan Utah and moved to Sandy Utah. Bruce had a mischievous side as a child that followed him through into adulthood. When he was younger, he told his friends that his sister Debbie, who was small in stature was a midget and charged his friends a dime to come see her. His sister Jeanette, who was like Bruce's twin growing up wanted to ride his bike to which his reply was sure, but you have to ride it down this steep ice-covered hill. He explained to her that she needed to peddle as fast as she could and whatever she did, do not hit the brakes. As you can expect there was a crash waiting at the bottom with scrapes and bruises. Throughout his childhood Bruce enjoyed being outside and made the outdoors a big part of his life. Even at 11 yrs old he started accompanying his dad to jobs learning about the floor covering business. Throughout most of his childhood he helped his dad in their floor covering business. He learned early on from his parents to have a strong work ethic and realized the benefits of doing so. Bruce was a devoted son and inseparable from his dad until his father's passing.

Bruce attended Jordon high and Master Academy Highschool while living in Sandy where he met and married his first wife Christa and fathered two children Mykle and Amber and raised their half-brother. He graduated in 1978 where he began driving a truck for General Battery. Afterward he became a contractor working in the power plants with his dad for approximately 10 yrs.

In 1988 he was working for an insulation company and was assigned as a contractor to remove asbestos insulation at the Sinclair Refinery Company in Sinclair, Wyoming. One morning while getting coffee and eating breakfast at Christy's aka Mike's Big City the waitress tripped and spilled cream on Bruce's shirt. Once he and his father left the restaurant, he told his dad that he was going to marry the waitress who spilled the creamer on him.

In May of 1988 Bruce made that a reality and married his current wife of 36yrs Adelinda Christina Lujan. On April 5, 1989, Bruce and Christina welcomed the dark haired brown eyed daughter Angelina Elena Baugh into the world, that he had been praying for since first learning he was going to be a father again. From that time Angelina and her "Papa Bear" were inseparable. Bruce moved his new family to Utah for approximately a year and half until an illness in the family brought them back to Rawlins. After moving back to Rawlins Bruce became an employee at the Sinclair Oil Refinery where he moved positions from being a carpenter to a welder and ended up as a maintenance planner until 2022. He proudly worked for the Holding Family who he was a distant relative of and continued that service for 32 yrs.

Shortly after his employment at the refinery, Bruce worked his way up to being a Captain of the fire brigade during that tenure and as a Captain Bruce fought numerous fires within the plant as well as in the town of Rawlins. Years later he became vested and retired from the brigade but always remembered his tenure and the brotherhood of being involved in the brigade.

In November 2022 when the Holding family sold the refinery to Holly Frontier Bruce's career ended as an employee and he came back out to the refinery as a contractor working for Evergreen North America. Bruce worked his way up to Supervisor position and would remark to his family on numerous occasions how much he enjoyed his job, and the guys he worked with at Evergreen.

During the course of Bruce's life, he overcame all the obstacles and challenges that were ever placed in front of him. Loving life and helping people was at his core the type of person he was. He mentored numerous family and friends from helping them to develop life skills for work related activities to personal advice on life lessons. Bruce was loved by his family, his in-laws, friends, and strangers he had just met. He never met a stranger and never told anyone No, who needed his help. He loved the outdoors from being a kid back in Utah to his passing here in Wyoming. Being outdoors and in nature gave him peace, with hunting and fishing being a big part of his life. He believed that being in the outdoors around a campfire was the best medicine for the soul. There is a void in the hearts of those who knew him that can never be filled. We as family and friends can find solace in that Bruce is in a much better place and will spend his eternity with our God Almighty.

Bruce is survived by his wife Christina (Lujan), his daughters Angelina Baugh (Craig Currie), Amber Moorehouse (Corey), son Mykle Baugh (Amy), mother Renee Baugh, sisters Sherri Jarvis, Deborah Hansen (Stewart), Jeanette Hansen (Mark), Lisa Baugh, brother in law Michael Lujan, sister in laws Rene Gonzales (David), Michelle Johnson, 4 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bruce was preceded in death by his father Lyle Hutchinson Baugh, paternal and maternal grandparents and aunts and uncles, father-in-law Joseph Lujan, mother-in-law Linda Lujan, brother-in-law Dennis Jarvis.
